God began His conversation with me by causing too many coincidences to appear in my life for me to explain away as mere coincidence. The first and major step on the bread-crumb-trail I was to follow was meeting my then fiancee, and now wife, Miranda. I met Miranda at work long before my own campaign, when I was working for a local elected official.
Miranda grew up in the church. Not only did she attend services on Sundays, participate in youth ministries and go to summer youth camp, but also attended Christian schools for all of her K-12 education. More importantly, if I had not met and proposed to Miranda, I would never have been introduced to her family, with whom I quickly fell in love.
Most of Miranda’s family lives in Southeastern Missouri. Being only a two-hours drive from them, we’ve visited her family several times for various holidays and random weekends. On one early trip, we joined the family to a Sunday service at their local church, which is of the Assemblies of God (AG) denomination.
